well im stumped

Hi guys
i need your guys help. we have a v-rod cover and we need the silver. we know its called sterling silver. and 100 anerversary silver. we also know that harley never released the formula.so what im hoping is some has used a car color to do a repair of re paint on a v rod and would be willing to give me the code or the tinters which made the color. please dont just put you opion of what you think the color is as i have read so many different theories from hok silverwhite pearl to ghost chrome. we know its not either of them.im thinking.

The newer harley's are painted with ppg paint.Here in the U.S.A the paint supply stores can do a computer scan and match most colors,but not the HD colors.Harley's way to make you think there paint is something special.Also they want people to buy replacement tin from them all painted.My son has a 08 harley fat bob just plain black but i couldn't get a color code,or reading on the color.Most cases you have to go with what can be mixed close, sorry i can't help you more!Dan

It might sound silly, but why not contact the major manufacturers directly and ask them to send sample chips of their best color match?
Between Alsa, HOK, PPG, DuPont, etc., you should get some match or at least an idea of which way to go.
