yet another cut and buff topic....

I mostly paint plastic interior car parts... you know using high density primer filler sand, colour and clear... and everyone is very happy with the job... but just recently I saw a small piece of painted metal work with had been cut and polished and was blown away with how good it looked so thought maybe i should start doing the same... so I have just bought myself a Polishing kit it has a 75mm disc's x 3 and is a air powered tool... now I have never used air tools before and I have certainly never done any cut and polish work before so any tips would be helpful.

I should also mention that I have a small palm sander that I was planning to use but it has one speed - flat out!!! should I continue to use this or look at getting something better that will have a variable speed.

I also read somewhere that you sand the paint work then clear then sand and buff again is this correct? as it does not sound right to me.

oh and the buffer I got was a KC SM 090 polishing kit I think it is made by Suntech...

HI Chow

Clear coating and buffing how to article - How To Airbrush free lessons, articles, tutorials and videos. check that out Kicks wrote it a better source you will not find he's #1 in my book

Use the best clear you can it might not be cheap but it will pay off in the finish, a cheap clear will never provide the appearance a high end clear will.

hope that helps
