OK, here are a few pics of the sign, not good pics, with the rain and overcast they look kinda blurred. The weather here isn't going to get any better soon

I also included pics of the tools and compounds I used. I started with a rubber sanding block and 1200 wet sand paper, sanded the whole hood untill the clear coat looked flat, no more shine except a few little pin hole looking spots, then went to the 2000 wet sand paper and repeated the whole sanding process, that took care of the pin hole looking spots and the marks from the first sanding. I used my hubbys grinder/buffer and a 5/8 adapter to fit the loop and hook buffing pad, and used a medium buffing compound on a white foam buffing pad. After I had the buffing done with that, I switched to a polishing compound and a gray foam polishing pad. All the compounds and materials I used were 3M, except for the grinder/buffer, it was an old Milwakee. I'm hopeing to get a new buffer soon, the one I used for this job was very heavy, and I think I have a bit more muscle from useing it LOL I found that if I didn't use the full wieght of the buffer, it worked much better and achieved a much better result. I also found that if I lifted, or kept the left side lifted a bit more, the finish was easier to achieve.
