Acrylic Clear Rattle Can

Im am new and just cant figure this out.. please forgive.. I did a painting, practice and cleared it with Krylon acrylic clear (rattle can) and it almost immediately spider webbed and cracked.. I am using Auto air paint with 4011 reducer.. any idea what caused it to happen or how to prevent it? I let it dry overnight before i sprayed the clear on it..

Any help would be appreciated.. Ron

the base coat was just krylon black paint.. just some practice panels... I just have no idea why it would react like that.. I sprayed a panel with the krylon black on it with the crystal clear and it didnt do it...
I am going to get a can of the duplicolor clear rattle can to see if it does the same thing.. Still wondering why...

The problem can also be that you have sprayed a too heavy coat of clear and the thinner of the clear has gone through the base coat before to dry . So the base coat became wet and the solvants has to go by the only way possible . It looks like the same problem as if you would spray a too much wet base coat over a piece where you have gone through the clear , so the base coat touch the first one and the problem appear !
just an idea !

Once the base coat is sprayed you have a 12 hour window to clear it in, or the clear can pull the base right off the metal. If you are going to take a long time before the art work is finished you should do a clear over the base and let it dry. Then you can rough up the clear and then do your art work. I know I had this happen to me a long time ago it cost me the job and an unhappy customer. I never knew why the paint pulled off the wheel cover until this past year. A automotive customizer explained this to me.
