wow Xzotic, I've never heard of this happening. I know in the heat the paint will dry very fast, but , from what I understand yer sayin it's dryin before it gets out of the ab . Sounds like maybe not enough extender to me, I mean, thats supposed to slow the drying process. Hope someone can help ya out with this more than I did .

Hi Nat- Createx makes a retarder-This will slow the drying time down. You can give that a try but how much to use is gonna depend on how hot it is outside.

Hey Nat. if you have room try putting them in a small cooler. Freeze a few small bottles of water and store them along side . That might help you out.

The paint must be getting so hot, the gas from the paint can't escape out the small hole in the paint bottles tops due to dry paint suck in the breather hole . Seems like they are exploding, due to the gas build up. Try and keep them cool and you should be fine.

you need to block the sun from shining on the paint bottles & your airbrush, can you fit a umbrella in your setup for a sun screen

Nat I just reread your posts- From what your saying the paint is expanding due to the heat. Don't put full bottles on the gun to give the paint room to expand.

do the sun& heat heat the white paint too or is the color paints the only ones giving you a problem, can you use a paper tube painted white to slide over the paint bottle to block the sun rays & heat

Sorry Nat. Was going to pass by this morning. My friend called me up to give him a hand at his body shop. Masking and sanding for him. I hope you worked a solution with the paint issue. Well 2 late to head down town now, must be a mess with traffic. I'm off to Bear mountain. Catch you soon.

Two things you could try. One open the breather holes on the back side of each bottle to allow for more expansion. Either with an exacto blade or a drill bit. Two take a shallow long tray with some water in it and a few ice cubes every once in a while and sit your bottles in it while you are not painting with them and keep them in the shade. Also you could keep them in a cheap Styrofoam cooler with some ice on the bottom and something to keep them elevated above and keep the lid on. This is if you can't get enough shade to cool them down. Don't use too much ice because if the get too cold then you will have the paint thicken up on you.

YEAH IT IS UNBELIEVABLE THE WAY THE PAINT IS RISING,,i like the idea with the cooler,,just more crap to carry,,,redneck i dont carry white,,go head say it "WHAT"

i was thinking of making more holes in the top of the containers but was wondering if the suction would be off causing it not to flow right

also if i fill the bottles half way,,it will rise up the straw and harden like in seconds causing all this clogging to take apart the straw and try to undo doing a paint job,,soooooooooooo time consuming,,im gonna do the cooler thing

Nat,hope that you get this problem solved, on your next working day outside ,take a bottle of white paint and watch to see if it does the same as the color paint , color paint will absorb heat quickly than white

Making the hole a little bigger won't affect it that much, you may just have to raise the air pressure a little and I mean a little. like 5 more psi.

Good luck Nat
