IM SUPER PISSED,,,FIRST OF ALL,,this COMPRESSOR ive had for 3 years or so,,before this one i had the bs hobby ones,,they suck,,but silentaire seems too be good except for that one problem i had a long time ago with the switches breaking
so every 8 minutes the compressor keeps turning on,,im like what the hell????????????? driving me nuts,,i left it for days thinking its me,,but no now its an ear sore,,im like somethings wrong,,so i check the filter,,thats good,,i check the water trap,,thats good,,im like i dont feel a leak,,seems good,,let me change the oil,,so i check the little oil window and its black,,im like SHOOT thats not good,,i just changed this like 3 months ago,,
so i call silentaire,,and the tech guides me through it,,first of all i lift this 40 pound machine to sink,,he tells me unscrew the lid on the gray tank ,,im like ok,,i never did this before,,he said yeah lets see whats going on with this compressor,,,so i do it,,IDIOT I AM,,I SHOULD HAVE LEFT IT,,
I TAKE IT APART,,HE SAYS NOW there is a screw in the little gray tank ,,unscrew that,,so i do,,,IDIOT I AM AGAIN
than he says dump it out in sink where the engine sits,,and slid that out slowly,,i do and see all this gook dark brown chucks and stuff coming out,,,so im like,,WOO HOO CLEANING IT OUT,,not realizing its coming out the other ends all the floor and counter,,,I DIDNT EVEN NOTICE IT TILL END,,IDIOT AGAIN I AM
SHIT WAS EVERYWHERE,,SHOOTING OUT EVERY HOLE,,,so i tell him yeah its bad ,,,than i tell him this belt that goes between lid and bottom tank is corroded bad,,and he tells me i should have open the grey screw part along time ago and clean that out,,I NEVER KNEW THAT,,blah blah blah,,,i only knew to change the filter,,blah blah
so now im like ok,,he say now put it together and we hang up
i than spend like hours struggling to put this FREAKIN belt BACK on,,I TRIED EVERY WHICH WAY,,SO IDIOT ME CALLS THE TECH after 2 hours of struggling and say "yeah how do you get the belt back on",,he says "you dont ,,its too corroded you have to wait till i send you your new one",,I WANTED TO DIE,,,why the hell did i take it apart,,,
he promised me it should take me 2 seconds to put the new belt right on to seal it shut,,he said if i dont use it,,i will get oil everywhere,,

IF YOUR COMPRESSOR IS GOING ON EVERY 8 MINUTES YOU JUST GOT A LEAK SOMEWHERE,,,WHAT THE HELL?????????????????? IF THAT WAS THE CASE WHY DIDNT HE JUST SAY IT FROM BEGINNING INSTEAD OF ME DOING THAT,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,GOD DAM IT
and i even tried to cut the corrode off the strip but it still does not go back on easily,,,,i just got to wait it out
yeah Exzotic, thats a mess !!! But you could look at it this way, ya needed to clean the thing out anyway, by the time ya get your new belt, and get it back on, yer compressor should be good as new.......... Sorry yer havin troubles, been there, and know how ya feel.
yeah redneck its killing me,thank god i did some shoe orders before i did it,,now my walls got to wait,,its still in sink,,,i tried again,,i just got to wait,,they said by tomorrow at 1030 am shipping express overnight,,,paid extra bucks for it but its worth it,,
wow, sorry to hear of your troubles....but if i know you, you will fix the problem and come out smelling like a rose.........have fun......it only paint!!!!!.............and in your case,a bit of oil!! lol
man that sux nat . cant say that exact thing has happened but i know that terrible feeling. last nite when i was painting i went to clean my vl ab and i took the nozzle out put it to my lips to blow it out and patooey it shot outa my damn fingers way across the room now i cant find it! you talk about feel like a moron!

OMG! you know how many times I've "blown out" the nozzles on my eclipse!!!! Great! I've always been worried about that happening, but figured, "Nah, no problemo". Now I got this to worry about! LOL
I'm on my 4th compressor in the past 2 1/2 years. I blew up a 27 gallon oiless, a 3 gallon portable siezed up on me (yes, it had fresh oil in it!) after only about 7 hours of ABing. I have an 'emergency' 3 gallon now that spits oil and water to no end....I actually run 3 water / oil traps on the thing, and I still get water shooting out the AB!!!! Just bought a new 33 gallon Craftsman. Idiots gave me a 2 year replacement warranty! Don't think I'll ever have to buy another compressor again at this rate!

Very surprised at you. You know every part of an airbrush, pull it apart with you eyes closed, reassemble with your hands tied behind your back, while walking on a tight rope. ( well not at this moment, bum leg ) Knowning every possible thing that could go wrong with it. But you know noting about your air compressor. Hummm did not read that book that came with it I guess, called a manual. LOL.
Any way where's the air tank you use on the run? Well hope to see you back in action soon.
