ventilation ?

I renter just moved out of the little bungalo beside my house and i have been painting in my so called garage/paintbooth studio and it is nice but its hot hot hot . and the mosquitos tear me up in there really bad so i decided i would move my operation into the bungalo where its ac and heat . but i was wondering what method i should use to vent the hok fumes all large projects will be done outside but for small ones what do you guys think i should do so i dont lose all my heat and cool to vent ?

you could get a vent fan Derk, like the ones in bathrooms, or you could use a box fan in the window, just point it so it is blowing out instead of in, problem with that, is it will take cool air out with it.

yeah it would huh . do you think one of those bathroom vents would pull enough fume out if it was close enough to the work

bathroom fans do had different rating from low air flow to high air flow, check on the price of attic exhaust fan , you may be able to buy one almost as cheap as a bathroom fan

When I built my workshop (20ftx10ft) we installed an attic fan in the back wall. It was meant for a ceiling mounted attic fan with louvers. The louvers opened in the opposite direction. Took the louvers off and used one side as a template. Drilled new holes and reinstalled the louvers so they all open in the same direction. The fan has 2 speeds( I never used high)-we installed a 50$ wall switch instead of the pull chain that came with it. You have to crack a window even on low or it will suck the air right out of the room. If I turn on the fan before I start painting it takes the fumes out so fast you don't even need a mask! The window has to be in front of what your painting and the fan will create a draft that sucks the overspray right away from you. I've primed and sprayed complete bikes with this set-up and cleared . It's not explosion proof, but the trick is to not let the fumes build up in there and then turn on the fan. Turn on the fan before u start painting. The solvents are dry before they hit the fan. We installed the wall switch next to the front door cause I was a little leary about blowing uo-Figured if the only thing in the room was my arm it wouldn't hurt that bad. Hahahaha!

yeah i hear ya brother . was it hard to regulate the temp with that set up with all that air moving out or was it not climate controled

Not really-We installed electric heat- So in the winter use Auto Air.
For clearing in the winter you have to get everything set up and work fast cause the clear won't cure right below 60 degrees. Open a window a little -turn on the fan and shoot your pieces-and make sure ya have a mask on-that stuffs real bad for ya. Clean the gun then get the hell out of there. Leave the heat on for a couple days then wet sand and buff cause your gonna get some dust. Just make sure your window is closer to the fan than what your paintin. You want that draft in front of ya so the crap flyin around goes out the fan and not on your artwork! Also we put an AC unit in the back window for those hot days! Like Lee has LOL Well maybe not that hot!!!!!!!

what you say flush mount to me it mean that the fan will be install either in a outside wall or in the roof, I install my fan in a wooden box and install a section of flexible tubing between the box and the opening window, I do not see why you could not install a exhaust fan in your window if you are painting close enough to the fan>>I built the box so that I could put furnace filters on the intake side of the fan to catch must of the paint fumes--overspray

I like that Idea redneck I think that's my best way for now I am only painting with com-art and createx ,but I really want to go to aa or hok but I am a renter and my daughter I really do not want to but in danger but 3 day she is at moms if any one has a good pic of box fan and hepa fitter tip system I would love some input
