SEM Sure Coat

Thought I'd do a little review here on SEM's Flexible Leather and Vinyl WATER BASED paint.

I recently got the opportunity to talk in depth with a SEM Tech man and actually got some paint to try. I was told this paint is what is used on the leather seats in the Airline industry and can be used on car dash boards, interior panels along with leather/vinyl seats.

Up until this paint I have been using Wicked on leather and really enjoyed how well it sprayed and covered, my concern was durability. So yesterday I painted a leather jacket with the SEM Sure Coat. Using a HP-CS (.3 needle) I had some trouble spraying the white which I did reduce by about 25%. It just took more trigger to get it to spray. I was at 40 PSI and it might have needed more pressure or reduced more but the coverage was great. The beauty of this paint is it doesn't need sealed. The Tech man said they have 3 clears to go over it but is only needed in extreme wear applications (seats). I did however use their low luster clear over it just to be safe.

Overall, I'd give this paint a thumbs up overall and really need to get somemore leather to paint to see if I can figure out if maybe a brush with a .5 needle would do better.

I reposted a pic of the jacket even though its in my other post.

i used this stuff to refinish my door panels and armrests in my car.
It made my 40 year old door panels and armrests look brand new !!!!

I did use the clear on it to give it somewhat of a shiny vinyl look .

I was very happy with this stuff and would definitely reccomend it.
