Re: Createx Wicked Colors
I don't know about you guys and gals but I'd have a little bit of a problem paying $17.00 for their smallest bottle. 16oz. and then find out it's no better than their other products. 16oz will last quite a while . No sample packs offered? Maybe even a 4oz bottle?
POSTED by Oats but it got messed up somehow so I reposted it here for him

Re: Createx Wicked Colors
I have tried the wicked colors white, it is a little better with coverage, and with tip drying, it isn't an incredible difference, just a small difference.... I agree, they need to offer the smaller bottles like 4oz. I want be purchasing the other colors. I will use the white due to better coverage... still wish it were better.... just my 2 cents....

Re: Createx Wicked Colors
Any more incite to the Wicked colors. I like the idea of no top binders to make it last longer and to be able to be used for automotive at the same time is appealing to me. being solvent based is it more compatible with clear coats? And when cleaning up do you need to run a paint thinner through the brush? Last but not least how are the fumes for airbrushing in a house or store type setting?

Re: Createx Wicked Colors
Don, is the first post (Yours) your thoughts or the company propaganda from Createx?
Your later thoughts don't sound like they are coming from the person(s) who wrote the first one.
If this is solvent based paints, then there will be more risk with the airbourne material, those solvents and fumes have to go somewhere!
The thought of no topcoat is nice, but is it enough to counter balance the solvent issues in spraying and cleanup? It sounds like a trade off to me, and with the expense and no smaller sizes to try it out, I think this stuff has a hard road to hoe.

Re: Createx Wicked Colors
i have used the wicked white and its pretty much the best white i have used --- other than hok or golden
a lot less tip dry than the regular createx
and it sprays really smooth and doesnt clog
it is pretty thick but sprays even better when its reduced with the auto air reducer
im trying not to think about the solvent part cuz i dont wear a mask ---
but i have only used it for smaller stuff ---- not cranking a lot of overspray
i do wish they sold it in smaller bottles tho but i guess the big one i got will last me a while

Re: Createx Wicked Colors
I've been using the wicked for a couple months now, and i do like it, better than the old createx. i'm still mixing with the old to get it used up(the old). don't leave it in the brush for too long it's a bugger to clean out! seem to get a lot more mileage out of it also, on;y need a couple of drops, mixed with 4011 reducer, goes a very long way.

Re: Createx Wicked Colors
Has anyone tried the Wicked Opaque White?
I've used Createx exclusively since they came out & I never reduce the white. In fact, when Createx released the pure pigments, I would bump my white with pigment until it could cover nearly anything. Of course, the downside was serious tip dry. The Wicked white is better (in my opinion) than the standard white Createx.
Anyway, I'm just curious about the Wicked opaque white vs their 'regular' Wicked white. Any coverage difference, or should I just stick with what I'm using?

I painted for a long time, and tried to paint with masks, but not matter how good your 'front man' is, people still want to talk to the artist. Pulling the mask off & putting it back on several times a day just slowed me even further. However, the only time I don't wear a mask now is when I'm doing a demo and I always make the point that I wear a mask all of the rest of the time.
Lungs aren't made for digesting stuff, and I figure mine ingest enough gunk without 'tasting the rainbow'. So, I try to be a good gunner & wear my mask, even when my wife isn't looking.
Regards!

Re: Createx Wicked Colors
I haven't tried the Wicked yet either, but is it better than AA trans white or their reg. white? AA seems to be pretty smooth for me, especially for flames and reduced just a tad, because of the transparentecy of it. I'm willing to try it too, but for that amount you it seems to be alot.

I suppose it would depend upon your application. For T-shirts, Wicked can't be beat, IMHO.
I've never used AA, since I've always used 1Shot for exterior applications, or, auto paints. Createx came out with AA & I was intrigued, but leery of giving it a go since I had products familiar to me which were already working.
