Personally I dislike Testors greatly!

And yes, all Tamiya paints need to be reduced to work through an airbrush, on solid colors I use a 50/50 mix, with the transparent colors I mix 2:1, that stuff is fairly thin to begin with.

Hope that helps somehow.

right on. I'll go with tamiya then and get their thinner. thanks a bunch. oh and since i'm asking about paint, what do you know about Chroma? They have an acrylic that seals up nice and it sounds like it would be awesome for my rockwork.

I use Tamiya all the time. Don't get suckered into buying their thinner - it's just 91% isopropyl alcohol. I'm not sure what you're doing - but if you're using Tamiya it's probably for scale models. If so, you'll need to thin it down quite a lot with the Iso alcohol. Personally, I thin it probably 35-60% alcohol to paint. It should be like milk and should run a little bit down the side of your color cup. The finer the line and the lower the pressure (~20-25 psi) the thinner the paint needs to be. Experiment with all the variables, you'll get it.

Also try the PolyScale and Floquil paints. I hear the PolyScale clear lacquers are second to none for models.

Best wishes,

-mac
