Default Iwata spray size conversion

Hello all,

I have an Iwata HP-SBS side feed air brush which came with a .35 nozzle and needle. I was wondering if it is just a case of changing the nozzle and needle to .5 in order to have a slightly different spray and also for spraying glitter paints etc.

Someone has told me that this is not possible and you have to buy the gun already set up for .5 as the internals are set for a given needle size. Is this true?

I am hoping you can just change the needle and nozzle and off you go.

Thanks for your time

Hi,

This is where I am confused as I know I can get a 0.5 nozzle and 0.5 needle. But I was told that these parts are for the 05 HP-SBS. I have the 0.35 HP-SBS.

So I am not sure if I can just buy the needle and nozzle and drop them in!

You can just buy the nozzle and needle as they interchange. The needle is the same diameter with a different tapper. You might have to use the optional bottle feed for the airbrush because the side cup might not be able to feed the heavier and thicker glitter paints properly.

Hello all,

Just thought I would let you know that I have had the .5 needle and nozzle in and all works well.

It really is quite different to the .35 setup!
