Default a couple of basic questions

I'm wanting to start doing some airbrush work. I'm new to it so will be learning as I go. I have a couple of basic questions.
First, how easy is all this to learn? Is it something that takes years to get good at or can I be doing some decent looking stuff in a couple of months?
If I have a picture of something I did on photoshop, how can I transfer that to a another surface, i.e. a helmet?
I know I'll have more questions as I go along, this is it for now though. Thanks.

Welcome hillcat!

This forum is the best thing to help you get started! Research through the forum, and study the tutorials. The videos were a great help to me too.

There is a lot to learn so be patient! Don't be shy to post pics of your work too. Everyone in this forum is really helpful.
