Talking another newb

hi everyone my name is david 16 years old live in the uk always wanted to do airbrushing and cant wait to start my first project.

my airbrush is an iwata hp-c please tell me what you think of this airbrush and also since im starting off im using base car paints thinned down please tell me if this is good or will cause poblems once i get the hang of it i will get better paints like house of kolor or createx paints.

ive been round the forum and seen some amazing work and hope to also achieve that standard of airbrushing.

my background:
i started learning photoshop a year ago i can brush and make design easily the only hurdle i have is making reflections as i photoshop cars mainly i hope this skill will help me with my airbrushing.

i hope to learn as much as i can and enjoy every second of it.

There is alot of great tutorials here David and would be a great thing for you to study.
Go through all the posts here because they are chock full of great info and techniques.
The airbrush you have is a great start, like Yardartnut said, and the paint will be fun to play with but make sure you use some kind of respirator when you use it, could give an awesome headache later in the day if you are not use to being around them type of fumes.
I use a respirator and i've been using solvent based, automotive, paints for the last 13 years. Still not use to them and probably will never be.
Water based paints are a little harder to dial in but maybe better in the headache part of it, not nearly as toxic but still wouldnt want to breathe it in. I would still use a respirator no matter what you spray. Lots of people here use waterbased paints and will give you some great advise on how to make them easy to use and also the right brands for the right project.
Lines and dots are the best way to practice and to learn about how to gain trigger control and paint control. I strongly reccomend to do as much as you can when you can.
I still do before every project just to get warmed up and to make sure my AB is working properly.
Lots to learn but make sure you fun doing it, dont get frustrated. Keep all your first lines, dots and any other illustrations and effects and compare them to what you have a achieved 6 months from now and you will see the difference and the progress you have made.
Post ?'s when you ever you get stuck and someone here will lend a hand or some good down home direction.
Welcome to the forum and post pics of progress when you can David.
