Default Iwata Revolution BCR Problem??

Ok all knowing ones, I've got a question/problem with my brush. Maybe its supposed to do this but I have my doubts. I've been having the normal problems with paint flow out of the brush but I've noticed that when cleaning the brush between colors and spraying water through the brush that I have alot of air leakage from between the nozzle cap and the brush body. I'm not talking about the tip cap/protector, its the next cap back. The cap the needle comes out of (nozzle cap in the manual).

Is this normal or should I have an o-ring or something to seal that surface up? It seems to me you would want all the air going out the front of the brush not leaking out the side.

I do not use a Iwata but I do think that you need a o-ring IF THE brush comes with one, do the 2 parts screw together , if you got bee wax , then that will seal the air leakage

That brush doesn't use an o ring and Rednecks right . A little beeswax on the threads will stop that. My revulutions do the same when I clean them but it doesn't seem to effect the operation of the brush.

Thanks all. I knew it didn't come with an o-ring so on my own, I tried some beeswax. It slowed it down and I feel better about it.
Thanks again.

Oats, if you have air coming out any place but he tip of the brush, it is effecting th operation of the brush.
Air coming out of the sides means that the normal pressure and volume of air is not coming out of the tip of the brush.

Almost all Airbrushes will have a very small amount of leakage from the nozzle cap unless you seal it with something. I notice it when I clean them because the cleaner will bubble. You won't see this when you are spraying paint. If there is a noticiable amount you should seal it with beeswax. Take all of your airbrushes and spray a soapy solution around the cap while the cup has some water in it and you will get a small bubbling. It's not a precisely machined part. Because the solution is very thin it will seep out. A very small amount (which you probably wouldn't notice with paint because it is thicker) is effecting very little on a .5mm nozzle. On the other hand a smaller nozzzle may be effected more because it isn't as forgiving. And yes you do want to try and seal it as much as you can.

The cup with paint or water in it should'nt make any difference as to the issue of leaking.
I have a gaggle of brushes that don't leak. If you have some that is leaking from the start, then you got a lemon or a really poor brand of airbrush.
