Default Need some feedback

Hey guys, i need some info on those turbine spray systems. I have a compressor that i put together a while ago (Frankenpressor) while i can run 3 airbrushes fine... it doesn't put out enough for final clear coating.. i was looking into getting one of those spray systems (turbine systems) just for the clear. So my question is has anyone ever have or use one of these systems.. all feedback will help me decide if it will be feasible.

Thanks in advance

Never used one but had my bathtub refinished and that is what they used. Of course they were spaying some heavy specialty paint, not clear. The finish on the tub has the most peal in it I have ever seen In fact they had to redo the the job cause the guy must have run out of paint or was rushing and didn't get full coverage.

Not sure if this is indicative of the units or just a bad painter, but I wasn't impressed and they are big bucks!

Better off getting a HVLP sprayer and a compressor IMO.

That would have been the painter or they used the lower end coatings....my sister bought her second hubby a franchise in that industry ..he went to a specialty school, and he goes thru the whole haz-mat protection when doing the coatings.. hes done it since 1997, and I dont know of a time he has ever had to go back on a job for a redo........he has so much work he has to turn down peoples request.....

Ern I agree that the HVLP would suit your needs...just an opinion

yeah one thing though it would be really hard to run a large compressor that would be needed to run a hvlp, i live in a second floor apt and i Empty and Seal off (only when i'm going to clear) a room with ventilation!!! a compressor of necessary size would scare the beejezuz out of my neighbors..lol
i think i'll make it easy and use rattle cans...not the same quality but less of a headache.. i guess

Just get a huge tank and fill up with air. For small projects it wouldn't take that much air. I'm sure you aren't painting cars in your appartment.
