my hose keeps getting water in it!!!
i have a moisture trap on the compressor itself, then there is a 6' (+/-) hose going to another moisture trap, and then a 10' hose to my AB.
Why is my ab still shootting water?!
could it be b/c my AB is a cheap pos?
(got it for xmas from harbor freight, "central pnuematic" along with the air compressor)
if its the AB, then im fine b/c i just order my Paasche Talon today!!! Woo Hoo!!
HELP!! PLEASE!!

Re: my hose keeps getting water in it!!!
Well rest assured that airbrushes do not create water! Not sure what type of compressor you have, but with the water traps in line that should take care of it.

Re: my hose keeps getting water in it!!!
Not sure of what type of compressor you have but if has a moisture drain on it you should open it and get rid of any excess water.
One place I used to stay I had an awful time getting rid of moisture so I added a 25 foot piece of air hose before my airbrush hose and coiled the 25 foot section and it got rid of the moisture. That extra distance helped to dry out the air before it reached the brush. Hope this helps.

Re: my hose keeps getting water in it!!!
i have the same problem im only guessing about ur compressor if its like mine a small sprint jet by iwata its always on there for the constant running heats the compressor and causes condesation so even with ur trap it will still shoot threw or it could be that its just to humid where u are doing your work im in a working test faze now but what i do is if its to hummid i set my compressor next to my humidor so far its worked out or sometimes i put it in front of the airconditioner after running the humidor for a while like i said its worked so far for me tried just a fan but if u have warm and humid air in the room all the fan will be doing is pushing the humid and hot air to your compressor the colder the air the better it cools the constant running compressor down pretty good hope this helps u out

Re: my hose keeps getting water in it!!!
I had the same problem with moisture, and I have a compressor from Harbor Frieght, I have added 25' of hose from compressor, then my water trap and then my 6' hose to my airbrush. I made a huge difference with the moisture. I hope this helps you.

Does your compressor have a tank on it or is it oiless?
If it has a tank look on bottom ..there will be a small drain plug....unscew it [you may get rusty colored water out...dont worry thats normal] If you do have this and you are getting high amounts of water buildup drain it often...or when you notice water buildup..

Re: my hose keeps getting water in it!!!
Sounds like faulty wter traps. Try a good in line filter.

Re: my hose keeps getting water in it!!!
Well, some of you are kind of on the right track.
When your compressor makes compressed air, it makes very hot air, and the moisture that is held in it is also quite hot, in fact it is steam. Having a reservoir or holding tank lets the air coll down a bit before it is sprayed, the larger the tank, the more time the air and moisture have to cool down.
Water traps are made to catch just that, water, not steam, but the liquid itself. So, when you work with a compressor that has a small tank, or no tank at all, the moisture trap close to, or right at the compressor doesn't see any liquid to stop. By adding the longer hose between your compressor and your work station, you let the hose act as kind of a radiator, giving the air/steam a chance to cool down before it gets to your work station.
You can get a desicant style dryer, this removes the moister retardless of whether it is steam or liquid, however, these cost a good bit more than the typical water trap, and you have to change out the cartridge periodically to keep them working.
So, the best advice is: Add a 50' hose between your compressor and your water trap at your work station. Depending upon how large and hot your compressor gets, a 25' hose may or may not work. The hose can remain coiled, it's just the distance the air and steam have to travel that really makes the difference. You still need to empty your tank and traps on a daily basis though.
If you still have problems, then you may want to consider adding a desicant dryer at your work station.
There is no such thing as having your air too clean or too dry.
