Early Halloween Pumpkin

Hey folks. I know Halloween is not for a bit, but I thought this was cool. My daughter (7 yrs old) likes to enter stuff in this local fair. This year she wanted to do pumpkins. She came up with the idea and did her "sketch" and supervized the production of the piece. All I can say, is everyone, get your kids involved in what you do. I dont see her as much as I should with work and all but the 3 hours it took to do this thing were great. Yeah, she wants a ribbon at this dumb fair, but doing a project with your kids is a winner no matter what happens after.

Looks great man! you ougth to enter it in the october contest. By seeing the works you do, you probly already have something in mind. Either way it looks really cool "theairbrushguy".

Thanks everyone with the comments. good idea Brad, I never thought of entering it. I don't have a lot of free time to do anything other than the work that the shop has so if what I'm working on dosent fit a contest, I'm out. If anyone else wants to do a pumpkin, there easy. Use a waterbase paint. We have Createx but I guess that any brand will work the same. Clean the surface with rubbing alcohol first and use a heat gun or hair dryer to dry the surface. Paint away. It is VERY fragile and the paint will scrape off easily, so be careful. Best to go totally freehand so the masks dont scratch the surface and force dry after each color. When you are done, use a rattle can clear. We use Krylon brand crystal clear. You can get it at a hardware store. Dont use the automotive rattle can stuff, jam clear etc... as it will wrinkle the paint.
