Default Airbrush paint

Hi there!
I'm new to airbrushing. I've done a little lately, but had a cheap airbrush. I just bought the Badger Crescendo and am interested in sheer or transluscent paint. I'm a metal artist. My website is Wylde Blaze Artistic Designs-Unique Garden and Wall Art!. Anyways, can anyone tell me what kind of paint you think this guy used? He told me that it's transparent car paint, but I can't find anything like it online. Any ideas would be great!
Thank you!
Diane

I agree. I think that some of my pieces would look great with that kind of paint. Thanks!

Wylde, it might be House of Kolor or Auto Air. Although I'm not aware that they have "translucent" but you can get "transparent" or "candies" which are even more transparent.

Thank you! They both look like they might work, as well. Someone also suggested Hot Hues and their Hot Candy Colors. Thank you for your advise! I need to try them and see which one is going to give the best effect.
I appreciate your help.

That could also be testors enamel paint. (Not acrylic) They have those real little (1/4 oz I think) bottles of metallic colors like jade green, saffire and burgundy etc. If you thin them way down they'll look like that on metal.

You can get it at most any decent hobby store.

Well, I used Auto Air Purple Candy for my latest project. Hearts for my mom for mothers day. I used straight purple candy for the large heart and mixed that purple candy with bada bling silver sparkle and white to get the lavender sparkle for the smaller heart. I love the candies! My website is Wylde Blaze Artistic Designs-Unique Garden and Wall Art! to see the rest of my stuff. I'll definitely switch to candies for all of my pieces from now on.

Welcome to the forum Wylde!

Nice website, I really dig the Portfolio page. Your work is really original, The baby pirate especially rocks, that would be a sweet avatar. I also like the purple candy heart. I am a bit partial to candies though, Ever since I started painting I have been addicted to the candies

Thanks, Oz! Yeah, I'm pretty much addicted to the candies now. I made an apple for my sons teacher for her end of year gift and used the bright red candy for the first time. They are aptly named. This apple truly looks like candy! As soon as I can get a great pic I'll post it. I know my airbrushing is nothing like all of yours, but I'm very new and am anxious to learn.
The baby pirate is one of my favorites. She turned out great!
Thanks!

Those tiki's are amazing! They look so great on the ground metal. Is all of that airbrushed or is some of it pin striped? Like the black outlines? I want that kind of talent. I am really not very good at the details, so I end up doing a lot of taping. Do you?
Thanks!

I think both are DENNIS MATHEWSON of Cosmic airbrush.....hes a great guy..[very helpful to others].heres his site: COSMIC AIRBRUSH
holler at him and Im sure if hes around he will tell ya how he does them...

That is pinstipe for borders...

I dont tape much, I get too many cuts, and places that dont line up right...
I should take some time to learn masking better...its a plus in alot of airbrush work...
