Default work in progress 2

Here is the second one. I did a underpainting sort of for this one, next step is to do some airbrush work to it.

Wow! This is really looking nice! I like your watercolor technique..this piece has a moody feel to it! Great design. I think that it looks finished already.
I saw you had a ''work in progress 1, 2, and 3''...do you do a lot at a time?

Sandi, Thank you for the comments. Most of my art work is in various stages; I have close to 10 pieces started and a bunch of sketches that I would like to turn into paintings. I have limited time to work on my own stuff because of my heavy work load.

Hi Natalie,
There is so many different ways it can be done. It's really up to the artist and what works for them. Personally, I don't do a whole lot of underpainting, but that could change in the future. Some artists will do a detail drawing in graphic or colored pencil, and then AB over the finish drawing. Also, you can paint (using a AB) with a dark blue or a diluted black paint for a underpainting, Then the finished underpainting should look like a monochromatic painting.

Natalie,
Like Zack said there are so many ways and techniques to do a painting, Vargas and Petty used to paint their pin up girls with water colors and the use an airbrush to shade and smooth them out. just try and experiment with different styles and you will develop one that works for you.
