Can Someone help
Hi everyone, This is my first pin up and I wanted to try the reflective metal tears but as you can see I failed. Does anyone know the technique to paint "chrome" or reflective metal tears or have a good reference photo to look at? Someone asked for this and I would like to be able to achieve this look. Any help is greatly appreciative.

The tears and folds look pretty darn good IMHO

Re: Can Someone help
The tears and folds look okay for the most part, but the biggest problem area I see is that the background and foreground colors are pretty much the same, this makes the image look a bit flat. Try making the background behind your girl darker, maybe with some smoke texture of something, that way the areas that are torn away look like you have revealed a whole different world or area by tearing away the top metal surface. You also might try adding sharper reflections of the tail, the pitchfork, etc. where they cross over the tears. Maybe some detailed texture for the top surface.
The shadows from your curls or tears of metal need to be darker and sharper the closer the curled or pealed metal gets to the surface.
Your lightsource needs to be consistent throughout your image, pick an angle, and stick with it.
There needs to be a visual difference between the two levels. Maybe some cartoonish flames behind the girl. She should be more detailed than the flames though, you don't want her competing for the viewers attention.
