Question Re: white

Hi,

I have the same problem. One thing that has helped is I bought Aqua Flow WHITE compared to Createx. But I still have that problem, so I'd love to hear some help too. Thanks

Are you using extender on the shirt and heat setting it before you start painting?

Are you using op. white and not transparent white?

Are you using to much pressure and blowing it right thru the shirt?

Lastly and most importantly are you thinking a head in the project and letting the white of shirt act as high lights or at least help you in high lighting areas?

The less paint you use the better off your are going to be. If you are painting on a light colored shirt do not load areas up with a dark color when you know that area will be high lighted in the end.

When you are done painting a shirt does it weight a pound more than when you started? Is it stiff to the touch? A good quailty airbrush shirt should feel no different in areas it was painted than not painted as far as feeling soft, not stiff.

Posting examples many times will bring you faster response's to questions.

And no its not the paint you are using Createx is used by 1000's of T Shirt artist successfully everyday as is Aqua Flow. Change your technique I think you'll find it cheaper than buying another brand of paint.

Hope that helps.

try running a blowdryer over the paint to dry it before adding highlights, and somtimes you will have to go over it again.....

Talking Re: white

Thanks, that has helped alot and Don's help was great too. When you are doing lettering it is difficult to save a place for the white and it does become a problem to get the highlights to show. I'm learning more and more every day and I'm just about ready to post some pics. TOO chicken so far. But thanks for the help!!!!!!!!!!!

To get the white to pop on lettering.I do this.Spray a dot for the high light then dry with air no paint and then hit it again.Or you can do what Mayhem said and use a hair dryer. It's the same thing. You are drying the paint. You would do this the same way if you were going to do a black shirt.Good luck and hasve fun.

When I was doing alot of t-shirts some years ago, I used DEKA fabric dye or paint. The colors were brillient and the white was fantastic! I don't know if DEKA is still available, but if it is you might give it a shot.

i do lettering a lot too. try painting a lighter coat near the highlights. what will help a lot is if you determine the highlights first, so when you do the regular colors you can mask it off wit a straight edge
