Where can I buy wholesale T-Shirts & Caps?

Does anyone know where I can buy T-Shirts, Caps and other pant-ables in bulk to get a wholesale price? Anyone have a web link or links? Suggestions are appreciated.

Where are you located. There should be a couple of place in your local yellow pages if in or near a major city. If not Google search for bulk t-shirts. There's alot of places. If not try www.jrag.com or www.jonessportswear.com here in B'ham.

VALKATEER, it depends a great deal on your location.. the savings that you would get by ording wholesale in quantity would be chewed up in freight if you order out of state.. I'm located in the coastal bend of Texas & get one day delivery from Broder Bros. in Houston & 2 day from Statton Wholesale Co. in Dallas..I order all of my shirts in case lots, 6 dozen 72 pcs. per case..I usually use Hanes 50-50, but each company has sales all the time, quite often with Jersey brand..I would be happy to furnish you with telephone numbers if you are unable to locate a large wholesaler in your neck of the woods, but it's very possible that you have a supplier much closer..Most companies require a sales tax number prior to ordering.. Are you planning on going into business?? Part of me wants to encourage you, & the other part wants to warn you to run away!! Hope this helps you either way..

Darla and all I live in Falkville, Alabama that's not too far from Huntsville. I am only paining on setting up a booth at the local indoor flea market here in town. But it would only be a weekend thing as I have a day job. I am just looking to do it for fun and maybe make a few bucks on the side. Nothing big time. I have a tax ID number for federal is that all you need? I have never used it yet but got it last year for a possible web site based business that fizzled out before it ever got started. Had two buddies waste my time and back out. (long boring story) I don't have a business license but heck I don’t even think you need one if you have not even made a thousand or plain too. I'm just looking into this as more of a hobby that pays for it's self. I'm just thinking to get an order of maybe 75 T-shirts too start up with by the summer time. So is all you need a federal tax ID number to order? Any good know suppliers in my area that anyone knows of?

I'm right below you here in Birmingham. Both Jones Sportswear and J-Rag are located downtown. I don't know of anybody in your area, but I'll see if I can dig something up for you. It would probably help you in the long run to have a business liscense, they aren't that much and pretty easy to attain.

Thanks barshark! I appreciate you checking as I have no idea but to Google my boggle. LOL
But I may get a business license later on if I make more then a few hundred bucks. I’m really just looking at this as a hobby that pays for it’s self. Right now I’m just trying to get all the information together so when I’m ready I’ll be able to set up quickly and smoothly. It may be a few months but I wanted to be ready by summer.

Hillbilly, there are alot of variables involved in it. Here in Birmingham they want to know ...
What type of business?
What will you be doing on premises?
Are you Owner/operater, LLC, Partnership, etc...

For me it cost $16.00 for my first business liscence. Every year i have to tell them how much I made and they adjust the renewal cost accordingly. Since I don't do a whopping bunch of business and alot of it is good old fashion trade work, I haven't paid much more than $25.00 for any of the following renewal's.
Here it basically says I can do business in the County/ City/ State and pay them taxes accordingly.
Other things like Tax ID number (I use my tax man), Website business (Taxman also) are seperate entities from the liscence.
Best thing to do is to go down to your local courthouse or sattelite and ask them. They'll best know the answers to your questions for your area. Everybody is a little different.
One thing for sure is, you better hang that piece of paper up where folks can see it. Here if anyone from local gov't comes in and it's not visible, I get a big ol' fine.

Sure it helps, I guess I'm heading to the court house and see what is involved. I hate letting the goverment know anything but if it could save me some money in the long run might be worth it. The bad thing is "The more you own the more you are owned"

Actually, the best thing about a business liscense is that alot of distributers won't do business with you without it. That $$$ you spend up front for it will save you mucho $$$ in the long run. It's always better to deal direct than with a middle man.

Quickchange, I believe, put a great post about this in the "As the Airbrush Turns" thread. It's somewhere in the middle and does a MUCH better job of explaining the process than I can.
