ultimate ultra fine detail airbrush?
hey everyone i'm not sure but i think this is my 1st post so hello everyone
anyways it was my birthday recently so i'm treating myself to a new AB i'm after an airbrush that provides super fineline stuff as 80% of the work i do is very small and detailed
at present i'm running on a pair of badgers (100lgf and 100sgf) and i've been eyeing up some of the iwata micron series as well as the devilbiss aerograph stuff
can anyone give me a recomendation before i spend my hard earned pennies on the wrong brush?
thanks

Have you already looked in the REVIEW Section on the Forum. If not, it's under the Reviews Tab at the Top under the Airbrush Technique Banner/Logo..........................................Kwit

Re: ultimate ultra fine detail airbrush?
just about anything i can get my hands on that the paint will stick too lol
seriously though at the moment i'm doing quite a few guitars but i also do phone cases to wall murals and everything inbetween i'm not a pro i just do it as a hobby tattooing is my trade
my fave type of airbrushing is portraits and i like doing small portraits in places you'd least expect them (did a red barron on a bass guitar next to the pickup the head was about the size of a 50p) and i like to work freehand as much as possible as i like the smooth "floaty" look it gives so i wanna keep overspray down as much as possible
any ideas?
thanks for all the replies btw

Re: ultimate ultra fine detail airbrush?
If you are going to do artwork as small as the redbaron you mentioned then the micron B or C, or any other AB with the same features, would suit you well.
May take a little getting used to as far as dialing in the paint and your trigger finger control but it would be perfect for the small illustrations that you like to do.
I seen somewhere where this artist would do full blown movie posters on fingernails and with great and accurate detail, truly amazing!! They also used a micron for some of it but also used a paint brush for lettering and other little details.

Re: ultimate ultra fine detail airbrush?
The Custom Microns are beautifull airbrushes. I personally would stick to the gravity feed and I beleive the Custom Micron B is the finest detaile AB they make. I own an the SB and it is a very good brush but some times gives me a little trouble with the paint flow if the paint is a little to thick.
Your other option would be the Passche AB turbine, but I have read they are very tempermentle and need constant adjusting. They are used mainly by medical illustrators when doing hairline detail.
Othe than that there are probably dozons of other options out there and it would then come down to personal preferance. Good luck.
