Default top coat options

I have been asked by a friend to paint up his interior of his car - which I don't mind doing as I am ok with just paint effects (I think/he thinks) now I have done a piece with his user name included into it and there are another 4 pieces that will be painted the same plus I have the rear boot carpet to be done as well (loads of work in those glassing and sanding)anyway my problem is I don't know if just clear coating the pieces is going to be enough of a wow factor or if I should add a slight transparent tint - I am talking just the very slightest like a drop or two into the clear in either a Blue or Black, I am leaning slightly towards the black as this might make the black back ground come a little bit more forward... really looking for other peoples thoughts and there might be another option

the paint that I have used is a 2 pack Black and AA silver base as the colour coat/effect

Be careful using black, it doesn't take much and your job will just look cloudy. What colour is the outside of the car,... maybe a little of that tint.

Sometimes it's difficult to know when to leave it alone. I agree with the others. Use straight clear, that's all. Leave it alone, it's beautiful.

Thanks for confirming what I had thought - I have finished off the other pieces and they have come out nice hopefully tommorrw the weather will be kind to me once again and I can get this clear coated - when it is done I will post up pics to show it off and also when it is installed - I think he is coming down this way next week to pick it up - I am really looking forward to seeing it in his car

well here it is the pics were very hard to take due to the top coat being so glossy but you get a general idea the owner is picking up the parts tomorrow were I will take pics with it all installed.

The owner of the second car I have started his parts and he came by today and was rapt with how the parts have come up - I should of done a before and after shots as he had had a go with a rattle can but it did not look good even for a rattle can due to the poor prep work... I will post up pics of those later. even if it is just a boring gloss black.

Hey Sabreghost, yeah I am very happy with it, and the final finish on it turned out so much better than I had hoped for and it was what my friend wanted.. so good news for everyone

Still have the rear boot to do but I have an idea - one that I am stealing from someone from this site... well some of the ideas anyway - one thing I have learnt is it is one thing coming up with a design it is a totally different thing in the execution of it.

Unfortunately the pics I have taken of it installed don't really look all that good... but you get the general idea
