Default Grime and other streaks

DON'T DO THIS ON SOLVENT-BASED PAINTS.

This works on Auto Air and probably other water-based paints. If you want to make a super fine streak to simulate grime, rust, oill or any other stuff do this:

1. Add a small dab of Windsor Newton OIL paint with a toothpick.
2. Wet a small brush with paint thinner and streak the oil paint in a downward motion. Use more thinner to remove the paint tp your liking.
3. Use a hair dryer on the thinner to evaporate. Continue to paint.

Use different colors and mixes to give an aged look. The use of acrylics (from a tube) with water-based medium may work on solvent-based paints but I have not tested it.

Break open and retreive the blades in disposable razors.
Use them to cut masking...cut marks will be prevented with more ease, and if you do make a cut mark it ...is so micro paint will fill it in.
These blade stay useful longer, are more flexable for making turns.
***** NOTE Be very ,very carefull in using them they are small, and super sharp.

Amazing when you are a newbie what you can get out of articles that you have read once and you go back and read it again.

Don has an article posted on doing a 911 helmet. I've read that one and others numerous times but today when I reread the 991 helmet article, I came up with a trick he used that work great for me. He stated that he used transfer tape on a piece of paper and printed out his photo on the transfer tape. I took it one step further and used a sheet of masking material (like acetate) and placed the transfer tape to it and printed out my design. I'm not sure but I would think the transfer tape is easier to remove from the masking sheet than regular paper.
This will make getting my designs on to my work easier now since you don't have to trace over it with a pencil to transfer the image... Vinyl cutters won't do photo's or bitmaps and some just can't be converted easily to vector images.

A world of knowledge just sitting here waiting to be read.

Water stencil:
1. Use enamel paint and spray the surface.
2. Mist or spray with water to make droplets.
3. Mist with opposite color of enamel paint and let dry or use heat(not air).
4. water droplets without hassle.
