Tailgate
I have been painting/drawing for 25+ years. After many years being frustrated by airbrushes, I'm finally starting to get the hang of it, Although I feel like I have a ways to go.
This was created entirely with Auto Air. I like the new formula and reducer.
Let me know what you think(lettering looks blurry from light above.). I could use opinions on pricing too!

Re: Tailgate
Very nice, crisp, clean, and sharp. Love the cigar....you nailed the "cherry" on that! Don't know what the market is like out in Eastern PA (I'm a westerner myself). I usually ask a customer what price range they are in before I do a project....as I can match the quality with what they want to spend. I guess alot of it would depend on where you plan on selling (local or e-bay), and how many hours you have in it, plus materials. Around here, I think it would range between $900 and $1500 very easily just to give you a ballpark. But the market here isn't nearly as good as in other places! You've got a real nice piece there.

Re: Tailgate
nice detail, very clean indeed. Im up in the Midwest. The Market isn't fantastic here, but I wouldn't do that for less than $800. If your customer realizes the value of a quality custom job such as this than i would say 1200 for it, but if its like it is here where everyone thinks a paint job is 200 bucks then you might have to drop below a 1000 like me.

Re: Tailgate
Great looking work .... thanks for sharing.
Don't sell yourself short on the price. If you charge cheap customers will think it is inferior work. Just my two cents.

Re: Tailgate
The gate looks real good! How many actual hours did you spend on it? Pricing is always difficult as everyone has said based upon your location. One way to figure it is what is a week worth to you? If you need to do take in a minimum of $1000 a week then you are at $200 a day, therefore $25 an hour. Dosent take into consideration your location but is just a starting point.
Remember, good work aint cheap and cheap work (usually) aint good.

Re: Tailgate
Awesome work, love the tailgate, pricing your work is very difficult, customers seem to think just because you can paint, then you should be able to just whip something out in a short time and practically give to them. you work is worth well over $1000 to me. good luck and may you prosper on your work

Re: Tailgate
Hey!
Thanks for all the advice. Lots of activity around here. Since this was my first "big" project, it probably took about 45 hours to complete. Now that I know how to approach a project like this, I can spend less time staring at the project and do more airbrushing.(airbrush videos helped me tremendously) I think I could do it in under 30 hours if I did another.
Again, thanks
Wade
