Re: snow..........got technique?
Hi
i 've never done snow but i think i would use white for the snow and transparent blue for the shadows and dark aareas. Maybe a mix of transparent black and blue for the darker parts !

Re: snow..........got technique?
Yard, do very soft smooth gradations in your shadows and the lighter the blue the better. There are very few hard edges in snow and a little blue goes a long way. Never use black on the snow it will look fake. I learned to do snow way back when I was mostly doing oil painting in High-school. And yes I am around just have not posted in a while. Starting to get the itch to paint some more. I have had a lot of migraines lately and heading off for another MRI on Monday.

Cartoonish Brush thanks...
I had to add edit some area to give more stability to the flamingo display since the legs are so tall & thin & this being coroplast [corrogated plastic]
I added a large enough area & wanted it to look like the bird was standing in some snow......of all the things I can paint I think this was kinda cra**y looking for snow & the number of years Ive been Abing ahahahahahahh.....
I tried it again on the golfing elf & its a bit better....
Im gonna try tomorrow to use large piece of cotton [cloud tech.] and the blue hues to try to work this duh me situation out ahahahha
