Default Sepia Colors

I have an interest again in trying to do portraits. I am going to start
on a few black and whites as I like the effects.
Question is, how do you mix a Sepia Color? Many photos are a grey scale.
The effects of that are super. But when I see sepia tones I am put off .
Colors I have right now are createx light and dark brown transparent.
Also some com art colors in burnt umber and sienna brown transparent and opaque. And also a red brown badger color in opaque. When I can I always try to use transparent colors. I have even purchased a basic skin tone sampler by Steve Driscoll over a year ago. The good thing about his sampler is that on each back is his own formula. You would have to puchase many colors. There about 15 different skin tones in this sampler. Maybe I should just try his formulas. Anyone ever use this or do you have your own mixing
suggestions?
Thanks again,
Fresnojohns

Scared or skin tones... let us know what you find out..
I like comart smoke for back and white.. it is not really black.. kind of a warm blackish brown, very very thin and very very very transparent. 2 oz is all you need to do a lot of painting and it erases very very well.
Good luck!

For mine (not the greatest) I used createx sand at first, then came in with a mix of 7 sand: 3 light brown...that gave it the red tint...

Grinnen,
Is sand the name of the paint? I have in the past started with beige.
Is it transparent? The skin tone they have is way to pink. I will check it out again.
Thanks,
Fresnojohns

Yes, Sand is the name and it is transparent. I also have skintone, but that was not used for my project.
