Question Roving fuzzies and dust specs?

Hi All, as you can tell I am painting otherwise I wouldn't have all to Qs! Is there a gentle way to remove the fuzzies or dust specs on the paint job when it's done? I don't knoe about you guys but I seem to get a few of those nasty things creating unwanted little dots on my work! I use AA by the way.

AA can be tough to work with.....a bit of a learning curve. Are you talking about dust, paint specks, or little "goobers"?

To remove dust, I use a tack clothe.

For the little specks that spit out of the airbrush at the most in-opportune moment......I try to rub off with my finger.....or try to "pick" it with a razor (doesn't usually work)........but the best thing is to try to blend over it with the other color. To reduce those little nasties, I try to reduce the paint quite a bit with 4010 reducer to improve flow, clean the needle tip (tip dry) ever minute or so, and blow full flow (trigger all the way back) every minute or so.

For the "Goobers" or "Boogers" for lack of a better description, Let dry for about 15 minutes (or force air dry with blow drier, and wait about 5 minutes), then rub off with your finger. May take quite a bit of rubbing, but 98% of the time, I can rub one out.

Thanks Big D. I'll see which ones of mine fit your different descriptions!

You can also use Createx Retarder to help slow the tip dry, just dip your needle in it before you start painting. Depending how much paint you mix you can add it to the paint but if you add too much it will almost never dry
Dont ask, I just know

same with a couple of drops of glycerin to the pot helps heaps in tip dry, as has already been discussed many times, it would appear that AA have added some into their new 4010 and 4011, but you just need to be aware of the going's on inside your airbrush.

Know the facts;

1/ you will get tip dry, be aware and clean often.
2/ the paint will dry fast in the pot, keep it agitated and keep the lid on if you have one.
3/ the paint will build up in the cone, a good full blast line or 2 will help there.
4/ snot or goobers will happen if the mix is getting too dry or there are too many cling-on's around the tip protector or needle.

Always keep an eye on your pressure and an eye on the cleanliness of your air supply.

And lastly, Listen to Big D, he works wonders with AA.
