Rivets

Can someone give me a quick rundown on rivet technique.

I use file folder material (cheap and you can throw it away when done) go to the craft store and buy some of the self adhesive marking dots ( come on a page full) and lay out your pattern of rivets, very lightly spray your dark color on the shadow side of the dot and white on the light source side, when all rivets are done take the file folder material and cut a hole the size of the dots, cover eack rivet and paint the same as mentioned above, this creates the look of the dents the rivets causes when installed and the reflection of the light on the rivet.

Thanks for the info Brushbyair. Seems I need to reverse the colors on the second step. Spraying black on the white side and white on the black side of the dot. IDK ??? could you post a pic for me to study?

I just saw a video on youtube about making rivits. There are actually two of them. One is by just some joe who actually has a few good videos for people trying to learn on a tight budget or no budget. The guys youtube username is airbrushtricks. Hope this helps.
