question about golden fluids or liquitex
I was having some problems with my AA paint last week ,and someone said I could use etac ,golden fluids or liquitex. My question is this. Do they come in a bottle? Are they for sheet metal on bikes? Caan I clear over them? And last of all, what do I look for? Thanks,jc

Re: question about golden fluids or liquitex
I think all of these products have reviews in the product review section and most likely pictures of the products. They come in bottles and they are more for fine art than metal (not etac) but the pigment in them is probably (just a guess) better than what is in AA. You can clear over any of them without issue.

Re: question about golden fluids or liquitex
Hmm,,in think the Golden fluids are to thick to apply on metall or any hard surface that should be clearcoated.and it's difficult to use any masking/frisket upon these colors ,,paint comes/peel off very easy when removing the frisket/tape,,
just my experince though,,i would go for the Golden Airbrush colors instead
they are made for use on any surface too,,BUT NOT for textile,,
These comes ready to use from bottle,,,no mediums/mixing needed.

Re: question about golden fluids or liquitex
When spraying Golden Fluid Acrylics or even the Golden Airbrush Colors you can reduce the potential for "frisket pull" by mixing the paints with Golden Transparent Extender as opposed to Golden Airbrush Medium - the Transparent Extender dries faster and harder helping to reduce "frisket pull" - there is also a Golden Specialty Medium called "GAC 200" that can be used as an additive to your paint mix when using friskets and tape that also increases the hardness of the finish to insure clean breaks on frisket work.

addendum
Another way to go:
GAC 500 - Best Isolation Coat Medium for Spray-Application.
* Unique balance of film hardness and flexibility.
* Mix 2 parts GAC 500 to 1 part Airbrush Transparent Extender to produce a good spraying, fast-drying isolation coat.
* Beneficial as an additive for acrylic paints for increasing mar resistance and decreasing dry film tack, without disturbing the balance between hardness and flexibility.
* Useful when working on flexible or rigid supports.
* Offers a self leveling working quality.
* Dries to high gloss film with good clarity/transparency.
* Useful to hard-edge painters to seal masking tape for cleaner edges. Apply over masking tape. Let dry before applying additional paint layer.

Re: question about golden fluids or liquitex
Thanks JW for the info
I'll give it a try, would great to be able to use my fluids on hard surface painting too, because the ICI autocolors i normaly use don't have that wide
range of options in color values as the Golden Fluid Acrylics,
Btw,, welcome to the forum.

Re: question about golden fluids or liquitex
If you need more info on the Golden Products - just go to their web site and look under the "Tech" heading for tech sheets on all the products...
