I know that on canvas paintings artists sign their work, but is it customary on, say, a bike tank to do so? I'm not sure if that would fly with the average customer.

I have seen tanks that were signed before...I guess it would be up to the customer...

Thanks for letting me know. I never saw one signed but up 'till now I never looked for it either. I suppose the quality of the paint job and reputation of the painter would have something to do with it as well.

I have only seen one bike signed...but the artist is supposedly well known...I think if I signed a bike, I would end up having to pay them Although, I have seen a couple of artists who hide stuff in their work...I guess that could be a signature...Maybe someday...

Nothing wrong with signing your work but don't let it take away from the art work. Seen bikes where the artist putting his name or logo on the bottom of the tank.

I sign everything custom, not my stock designs tho. Noone has ever had a problem with it. It helps advertise for me and who knows maybe 50 years after I'm dead and worm food it might be worth money LOL
