Default Painting my Subwoofer enclosure, need help

This is the first project I am taking up. The box is made of MDF particle board, I primed and sanded it down.
My question is this, can I use any paints for this or should I get special auto paint? I am planning on putting a clear coat over it afterwards but I have no idea what kind I should use. Im guessing it depends on the paint I use. I mainly have golden fluids paint, will that work?
Thankyou

As long as it is primed well mate, it should be right as.

just remember the rule Oil over Acrylic is ok, but acrylic over Oil is a big no.

take care mate.

To tell you the truth,my friend, I would seal that partical board with something before I ever started to paint. I beleive some one else had a post simaler to this one. You might consider going over that box with a foberglass resin material. Just a thin coat should do. No need for the fibers or anything like that, just the resin itself will be goos enough. Then I would seal it with a paint sealer,to make everything uniform in color. Then do your artwork or whatever you plan to do. You will find ,f you do this, once you clear coat ,you will be very happy with it. Hope that helps
