Default Is it the paint? or the brush? or me?

i have a cheapo calhawk AB but its deacent. Im having a hell of a time trying to get paint to work. The guy suggested Testors with the Testors thinner for Abing. At first it just clogged my ab EVERY TIME! so i kept thinning and thinning and thinning (drops at a time to get it right) and now it sprays but it "spits" and a thick blob of un-thinned paint forms and grows off the end of the nozzle. WTF? is it me not doin up the paint right? wrong paint? the AB?

Smoke, from what I can tell it's both the AB and the paint. I remember from my first modeling days (a long time ago!) that Testors make very thick enamels. It has to be mixed VERY well with a toothpick and then probably 1:1 or more with airbrush thinner. I would recommend using Tamiya acrylics with thinner (30-40%). You're also getting what seems to be tip dry. Eventually the AB will spit goobers that dry on the tip. Clean it regularly with a cotton bud soked in thinner or somthing like that. If it spits right off the bat it might be a pressure issue. Play with the psi. Hope this helps
