Default Order of colors?

I am using opaque Createx paints for now. I am painting model rockets and doing simple designs for now. I will do more complicated designs when I get better with the airbrush.

Should I always spray the light colors first and then dark? One of my rockets I am going to do in pearlized silver and pearlized blue. I want the very top to be silver and then the rest blue with silver patterns over it. It would be easier to paint the body blue and then paint a pattern over it but is that going to work with trying to paint a lighter color over a dark color?

Should I paint the silver on as a base then use masks to block out the silver while I am spraying blue?

I haven't tested this yet and I can to get my answer but I am curious to know from people with experience what is the best technique.

Thanks

You should be able to paint the opaque light colors over top of the darker colors. I've done this with Createx black base and white highlights with no problem. Best thing to do is try it though on some scrap material. It's just paint

"It is just paint"

Yep. Good point.

Thanks for your response!
