Heyas, all
I Figured I've lurked here for a couple weeks, it's time to chime in.
I'm a 50 year old cabinetmaker from New Jersey. I originally bought a badger (actually a Sears branded model) dual action AB back in 1980 or so. After about six months I lost interest, mainly because I spent more time cleaning the AB than actually using it. At the time I couldn't afford buying multiple brushes. Everything got packed in a box, and pretty much forgotten about.
Jump ahead 25 plus years. I'm digging through the attic and come across the box, with old AB mags, stencils, notebooks with sketches, and paint (think 25 year old paint is still good?

)
I started reading up on the web about airbrushing, to see what if anything has changed. I stumbled across Dons site, did a little reading, asked about finding Paasche brushes, and wound up subscribing to both of his mags.
Placed an order with Dixieart for 4 Paasche vlst pro brushes. This should help with the cleaning between colors a bit, though from what I've read so far, one would have been enoough for now.
I've already learned more in one week here, than I did the six months back in the 80's. The main thing I've learned so far here is different needle sizes are for viscosity of paint. When I bought my first brush, I was told needle size determines line thickness. Needless to say this caused problems when trying to paint a thin line, using thick fabric paints. Not knowing what was causing paint not to spray was very frustrating, to say the least.
Once my brushes arrive, my first project will be to attempt Darlas lessons to learn to use the AB properly.
Well, enough rambling from me. Thanks for the wealth of knowledge here. Hopefully I can learn something.
Bill
