Default New too or Too new?

Okay got an ab.

Now what? Seriously, I mean.

What is the first thing you would say to me as someone who has never used one before?

What advice would you offer?

What paint would you recommend?

Thanks,

G

I second that it ( the web site) has started many, many folks off in airbrushing over the last ten years. Follow along the lessons, take your time, relax and remember its about having fun, its just paint

I agree whole heartedly. No matter what you want to achieve with your ab, start with the web site and lessons. Remember you only get out of it what you put into it. AB'ing should be something you enjoy and not a chore. Even though I don't have a lot of time to practice or work with my AB, what I have accomplished I owe to this site.
Thanks to everyone.

let me be the fourth, fifth, whatever to agree... do dots, lines daggers, till you are blue in the face, then do them again until you change colors three or four times.

Are they boring YES

Are they needed YES - it will teach you control. Just think of "Karate Kid" waxing all those cars, painting the fence, sanding the deck... seemed useless at the time, but once you start brushing your artwork and it comes easy, you are going to say.... now I understand why. It is only a small amount of time of doing boring stuff until you have a life time are creating artwork. Enjoy..

You have taken the first few steps, you got an AB, you have the desire, you found this site. Keep up the good work.

I started out less than a week ago, and I must say that AB is a blast. I've been doing hundreds of dots and daggers, following the howtoairbrush site, and in between, I tried some simple paintings just for fun. they are not the greatest, but hey, I had a good time making them, so what..... Keep those dots and daggers coming, and remember to keep your tool clean!
