Default New to the game

Hello all, I'm real new to airbrushing. I bought a cheap airbrush off ebay and I am going to start airbrushing with it this weekend. I really dont know how to get started or how to set everything up. However, at the end of the weekend my baby's room will have airbrushed clouds even if I have to paint the room over and over. I've never used an airbrush before so any assistance would be great. I've looked over some of the gallery and there are some really talented artists here. I look forward to working with you all as I get better and start really being able to acheive some of the great works I have in my head.

You may want to hold off on the clouds.. kind of need to be able to crawl before you fly.. www.howtoairbrush.com would be a starting point. If you start with what you plan, I think you will probably be disapointed in the outcome.. just my 2 cents worth. It takes time to learn how the tool work, learn the basics and you will have a much better chance of achiving those works in your head.

Welcome to the world of airbrushing.
I second what Doug said, it will not take you long to get up to speed with the basics if you apply yourself to learning them.

Here's a link to an article dealing with hooking yourairbrush up to your compressor Airbrush/Compressor connection

Thanks guys. You know you are probably right about the crawling before flight deal. I suppose since I used to do other forms of artwork I got a little ahead of myself. Reality sucks. Yet, the idea was good. Thanks again.

Hi, Nice to meet you, They are right, But dont loose your determination to achieve what you want. practice practice and ask for help! I remember when I wanted to learn to airbrush it was just like when you started out in other forms of art it takes time and when you except that you will be less frustrated as you go. first know your tool lol I learned what will and will not go through a airbrush (this is why I learned how to put it back together not to mention importants of cleaning) I took mine apart the first time and forgot how it went back together (there was no instructions and noone around) as the hours past I figured out what each part was and why the hard way (then bent needle due to gracefully holding over the cement floor), you have a head start you have this forum and pros. Dons tuts are a good place to start theres a wealth of info, I am still learning. hope to see your progress, and questions I am always learning new things. Jeannie
