Default My first "real picture"...

Well, after practising Darla's dots and daggerstrokes for quite a while now, I wanted to make a painting. My two little girls are both hughe fans of Disney's Lilo and Stitch, so I decided to paint Stitch on their closet door. The first picture shows what it looked like after I traced it, using a projector. The second picture shows the final result. I did the whole thing freehand, so there is some overspray. But after seeing the expression on my daughters faces when they saw their new closet door, really takes away all my agony towards the mistakes I made! They loved it, and that made me a proud dad!

Feel free to coment my work!

The artist is his own worst critic. Very good indeed. You just gave me an idea, thanks.

Very good for a first real picture.

Don't worry about overspray. I've been airbrushing for a year now, and I still can't spray freehand without any overspray on a hard surface.

I've been using stencils all year long instead of practicing freehand. So the result is that I will really need to practice it now...

That's a very nice painting indeed. You're making me jealous

Thanks everyone for the comments! This really inspires me to keep painting and trying new stuff. I will get right to it after new years, but for now, I have to start preparing my 17 lbs new years turkey! So to all you brushers out there, I wish you a very happy new year from the great white north, and keep brushing!

Well, as I speak of the great white north, I mean Norway! I'm norwegian, and live just outside Oslo, the capital of Norway.

Opps....I have a more limited imagination than I thought!

Sorry

On our continent the great white north is Canada. We had a song about it years ago.
