Default My first picture, few problems if you could help.

well after buying a airbrush months ago then it not working so getting another of the same make and that not working i finally put my hand in my pocket and bought a badger 150, spent about 2 hours this morning going threw the lessons on this sight which i muct say were very helpfull i decided to try a picture, i think i might of copyed this of someone off this site (dont be mad) after haveing loads of troble trying to get the right brown made up from blue yellow and green this is what it turned out like i had a few problems:
1: as my black was waterd down acrylic it came out a grey colour and not black so i had to cheat and do the outline in pen.
2: when i did try doing to outline or any thin line it went fine for around 3 or 4cm then kept stopping? then i would have to pull the trigger back to get any paint out which was then coming out to thick?
3: the last problem was making the right colour because i didnt have brown, which made me think it could be very helpful haveing a colour sceme/chart somewhere on this sight for simple and complex colours. anyway thanks for looking if you havent fallen asleep with me rabbiting on. Ben

Good pic dude.
You gotta play with those paints to get em right! sounds like you're getting "tip dry"
it happens you just gotta work thru it.
As for having the color in the black weak dont worry, just build it up slowly.
Its actually better that way rather than have it clog your brush or shoot too dark.
hope this helps.

parrington-- your worrying far too much about color--when in fact you still need some work with fundamentals..It wouldn't matter if Scooby was purple or lime--if he was done with the correct dots, dagger strokes & line work he would still look great..if you were given the task of painting Scooby in black & white what would you do?? Mixing colors is really easier than you might think--so if you show me a decent looking practice piece ( I have some examples in previous posts) I will give you my recipes for every color I use..as for your airbrushes spits & spurts--sounds like it could be tip dry you do need to work these things out..practicing the fundamentals will sometimes even correct problems like these

and remember "TIP DRY" is the most exciting thing about airbrushing . Mixing the paint to the milk theory works well, and as for color mixing, that really is the easy part. Just have plenty of the primary colors and white and black.
