My first airbrushproject!
I got my first airbrush ever on monday, and after spending some hours drawing lines and daggers I took it into my current computer mod project; making a "girly" computer for my 8 yrs old daughter. I downloaded a flower stencil from the net, printed it, cut it out and this is the result. I painted it onto the monitor that I painted red couple days ago. Most is of course stencilwork, but added some veins to the leaves, and some green and yellowish daggers as straws on the "ground". Didn't dare to put in any more freehand since I'm not that good yet, and I started getting some paint stuck on the needletip. A similar flower is on the other side of the monitor. Picture quality is bad, taken with a mobile phone!
Since this went pretty well, I'm thinking I could add something to the side of the computer case too(which is also the same red and some gold)! Since she's only 8, it doesn't have to be picture perfect, she's happy about getting colors

Looks really good,
You might want to try cartoon characters also, especially for kids, they are good practice (see my avatar, it's a shirt I did)

Re: My first airbrushproject!
nice start to your airbrushing, keep up the practice and in time you will look back and say "man I've come a long ways with airbrushing" it just takes time and practice.

Re: My first airbrushproject!
Thank you all! I don't know how many times I've been down to the basement just to look at the result, and I'm very happy
But mixing colors is hard! I really have to print out couple color wheels and hang them in the basement, because when down and getting excited it's easy to forget the basics and start mixing in black to get a color darker, and then when that didn't work, add white to get back to the lighter again and OOPS! Throw that batch away!

Re: My first airbrushproject!
My airbrushing continues, and my daughters computer got some more art today. I made a stencil from a photo of her and airbrushed it onto one of the cases side panels in black and white, and I'm happy with the result!
But I'm a bit angry on my paints, wonder if I could have got an old batch or something, because they sometimes stick instantly to the needle tip, and today I even got some big lumps coming out of the black bottle! I do shake the bottles VERY hard, the small ball inside the bottle rattles like an insane rattlesnake, but still! Wonder if I should buy new bottle of black of the same brand or try another (using com-art now).
Also uploading a rose, same model as on the computer monitor, but larger and painted on paper. Came out well, but I did a n00b mistake and put the needle cap on the paper when cleaning my airbrush so I got a brown ring on it
These pictures also taken with a mobile phone, tomorrow the wife comes home from a trip with the digital camera

Re: My first airbrushproject!
That is somewhat common (paint thickening) Shake the h*&^ out of the paint, thin it some and strain it through old nylons. That should get rid of the lumps. It's trial and error to get the mix of thinning and air pressure right. Also changes in the weather will effect it too.
