Default motorcycle tins

hey guys, im soon to be painting a set of tins for a harley davidson and i was wondering if there are any tips or tricks you could tell me in my working on them, and how should i set them up for painting? hang them? or make a jig?....the guy wants a mossy/emerald green base and some bronze/silvery flames on the tank only and i plan to do a little airbrushing on them as well....
this is what i plan to do...
get the tins and clean them up and wipe them down-
spray dupont variprime-
spray dupont 2k urethane primer-
wetsand with 360 grit-
spray with dupont premier sealer-
basecoat all tins with the green-
tape off and stripe the tank and spray the flames-
airbrush shadows (how should i do them??? pics??)-
unmask, and tack off-
spray dupont airdry chromaclear-
wetsand with 1500, then 2000 and buff-

so what do i need to know when tackling this job? thanks!!!

Do you have a sketch of what you want to do? Meaning...what the flames will look like...I think it might help...

I am about to do the same thing, but my wife is MAKING me practice the design on cheaper items...oh well...another reason to pick up the brush... I look forward to future posts, I am sure I will pick up some hints along the way...

I have never done anything except a solid color...but if it is bigger than working on you table, I would recommend a jig...more stable (I would think) hanging will probably work for large area spraying, clearcoating...but if you are going to be doing shading...

Now this is coming from a newb, but from what I've read around here, you might want to put an "inter coat clear" after the basecoat and before the flames. Makes it safer to mask and easier to fix when doing the graphics?
