MIKE LAVALLEE + true fire dvd

thinking about ordering this dvd, though i would ask for opinions here first.,,has anyone seen this dvd, did it help your true fire painting skills??? any opinions?

It's a good dvd.. i rented it from smartflix dot com before i decided to buy it.. and im still playing with it between jobs.

There are two DVD's in this series. The cheaper one (approx 30.00) gives you all the basics and gets you started. He showes use of the stencils and discusses some of his process. He leaves out some pertinent information that you should be able to figure out.
The more expensive DVD goes into more depth about the processes and all the paints that he uses and additional secrets of his layout. This DVD is titled: Secrets of True Fire.
You should decide which one...you may end up wanting more and spending addtional money to get both. If you can afford it I would just buy the more expensive one but the cheaper will point you in the right direction...good luck and post your work

Mikes "Secrets of True Fire" is good it covers the whole process and you can see how he does a street rod from color to clear.
It helped me to start making some money......It's(flames) turning out to be my "meat & potatoes"

Ditto what snuff said. It also opens the door to alot of other techniques and paint mixtures. I've always used kandies and solid colors but not in the way he would use them or at least didn't bother to notice how I did it. None the less,yeah their are other dvd's out there but Mike's is an easy one to follow.
