Default Marblizer

Hi

I have to use marblizer for a customer tank but never used it.
I've gone on the HOP website but i'm not sure i've understood very well how it works.
I's writen that tou have use it over black base : Do i have to use it directly over the black base ? No risk than the marblizer product destroy the black base ?
Do y have to spray a heavy coat of marblizer or a thin one ?
It is writen that the Marblizer have to receive a SG100 intercoat before the clear = OK. But can i use tapes over the marblizer even if i had no spray SG100, and spray the sg100 later ?
I know , many questions ! it's just to have an idea if it is easy to use or if i can think about another way to get the same affect !

thanks

pat

Pat

You can use over reduced base colors to marblize.

Thin wet coats of color so you have time to apply your material.

There are several articles in Airbrush Artist Magazine Pat, just seach the word it should bring those articles up.

You can use it over any color, I generally use Orion Silver as a base.

Hope that helps.

Thanks don , i've gone and find some infos.
I've decided and will follow Diaz idea : , (Diaz , i have to count how many times you give me the solution !) witch is use a neutral marblizer and give it the color by myself with black pearls, by this way , i will avoid a coat of black and will get a thin coat of paint to cover.

thanks

pat

Hey Pat, have you done this yet?
What color are you working over?
Honestly I can't remember commenting on this, I must be sniffin to many paint fumes!lol!
There a couple ways I would do this, let me know if you started this yet. What Don suggests is another way also.

Hi diaz

I've done the base coat witch is light grey with large coat of Ghost satin silver pearls. I have shoot a coat of 2 parts clear to protect it.
I've ordered marblizer Neutral and should receive it in 3 days.
What i plan to do is mix Black pearl candy powder in the neutral ! i will do some tests before.
Otherwise , i always could shot a back base and silver pearls in the marblizer.
I chose the neutral because i have to do a small surface and didn't feel to get a quart of product in a specific colour. With the neutral , i could offer other colours .
Is there anything else i have to take care ?

Pretty much you have it. I use reduced HOK's pbc-100 in the nuetral marbeliser and I have also used,,believe it or not,, black charcoal powder added to the nuetral marbeliser. It's a cool effect without the pearl, especially over silver where the pearl effect is already there.
Then intercoat it, let it dry really good, then clear it.
I did alot of testing with the charcoal powder and worked really well and held up no problem. A friend of mine still has the same paint job I did back in 2000 and still looks good as new.
It's a cool effect just needed to work and test it quite a bit to get the desired look.
Good luck on this Pat and can't wait to see the end result!

Almost any arts and craft store will carry it. Don't know what it is used for, I ran into it while ago in an art store and decided to use it to use a small amount on a rag to rub over vinyl cutter designs to make them show up before weeding out the vinyl. When the design is cut out it is a little hard to see so rubbing a little charcoal dust over it would make it show up and works really well for pounce patterns on light colored based surfaces.
By chance I decided to try it with the neutral marbeliser and it worked really well, at least for me it did, as far effect.
