low cost painting to start!
im just starting in airbrush. I read in a book that we can use water color or acrylic paint in it. Do you recomend it? If i use acrilyc paint do i need to filtrate it before? what kind of peint do you use when you just want to practice?
Thanks!

Re: low cost painting to start!
check out www.howtoairbrush.com lesson number one you'll find it helpful
golden airbrush colors about $8.00 for 4 oz which is enough to get you going thru tons of dots, lines, dagger strokes
Dr PH Martins or Comart are two more good paints which are airbrush ready
welcome to airbrushing and our little spot in cyber space

Do not buy the Createx to learn, this is textile paint and will cause you more fustration as a beginner than you really want to deal with. I think the art stores in Canada sell FW inks. One of our members (Gtech) uses these quite a bit. They are not really ink as you may think, but very thin acrylic paint. Check out the review section of the forum and see what forum members are saying about the paints they use. Experiment with Createx in a few months after you are feeling comfortable with your brush and have made progess in you skills.
Welcome to your new addiction, and have fun!

Re: low cost painting to start!
try Curry's in Canada www.currys.com for the golden paints or if you are near Toronto they have actual stores. They however only sell the Golden Fluid Acrylics so you will need to buy some golden airbrush medium that you will mix 1:1. I just got some and it is incredible, I had been using createx for a bit now and I can not believe the difference. Also if you do order from them ,while you are waiting just go in the cupboard and grab the food colouring, it works great and smells like candy when you spray.

Re: low cost painting to start!
I have never used them yet but I have read that you will probably spend more time trying to use them "mixing" then practiceing control of your brush... but I have only read that I dont personally know

Re: low cost painting to start!
They are easy to find everywere.. and people buy them because of that.. just happens they are not easiest paint to start out with. Why make it harder than it has to be? We all bought createx because it was easy to find, and we now tell others, don't buy it to start out with (first month or so).
I still have the original 6 bottles I bought over a year ago, some of them have been used, others never opened.
