Default Looking for info on Painting goalie masks

Im fairly new to this world. I have done some airbrushing at my friends house, and gotta say I enjoyed it. but I wanted to get a little bit more into it, Ive allways wanted to paint my goalie mask. I just dont know where to start.

I did a search on Goalie masks on this forum, and found some helpful hints, but im not sure where to start. Im not sure what kind of airbrush would be good to paint helmets, or even the compressor to get. Any kind of help would be appreciated, like what kind of paints to use, etc. im clueless on how to start this.

Thanks

Hi Matt, welcome to the forum. There's a lot of info here. I'm sure a lot of guys will chime in on this but as far as equipment goes, all I can say is that it's better to invest in a good airbrush that can suit your needs right off the bat. You can get cheap compressor and hardware that will work fine. On goalie masks, I scuff the surface with 800 grit wet sandpaper. Clean the surface with a degreaser and paint away. I use the new Auto Air paints, they're water-based.... works for me.
