Default Iwata Cleaning Station

Through a lot of research and help from this forum I have decided to order the Iwata Revolution CR brush from Dixie Art ($65 shipping included). Of course I will need the air hose and other accessories. What about the Iwata cleaning station? Is it worth the money or just something to spend money on that I don't really need? It is $20 from Dixie Art. Has anyone used one?

One other newbie question: Should I get the regular Iwata braided air hose or the "Straight Shot" air hose?

I can't tell you how much I have learned just nosing around the forum and the site. Thanks again. Tracy from Montana

Save your money. For a cleaning station just use a small wastbasket with paper towels in the bottom

Tracy,
I had been doing as Neil suggested and was using an old Tupperware container with a wet cloth inside to get rid of paint when doing color changes and cleaning the airbrush at the end of the session. I do my airbrushing in a bedroom/workroom and decided to give the Iwata Cleaning Station a try. I really like it as I do not get any paint mist on the carpet or counter top. I guess it boils down to how clean and what type of work area you have. The Iwata Cleaning Station works great and takes up very little space. If I didn't have carpet I would just keep using a container like Neil sugested.

I'm using a gallon water jug with a small hole cut in the side.

I'm using a container that had the pop-up wet towels in it. They have a little place in the middle of the lid where the towels come out. I take the lid off and put strips of old newspaper in it and it works great. Just put the tip of your AB in the little hole and viola!
