Introducing Myself
Hello.
I’m new to airbrushing as well as a new subscriber to Airbrush Technique Magazine.
I’ve bought an Iwata Eclipse and I’ve been playing around with it for about a week now, and I must say, I’m very excited. I got into painting because I wasn’t achieving my desired effects with colored pencil, and well you can’t really color on a lot of things. After painting for awhile with acrylics I really wasn’t taking off with the brush either. About a year ago I thought, Hey …. Airbrushing, and Wa-La!
The moment I pulled back on the trigger, consistent dots and decent daggers just flowed out. I wasn’t sure I could do it, but before my eyes it became clear, I’m going to spend a lot of time loving this.
I’ve been reading through the threads here and I know I’m going to love spending a lot of time here with you guys. This place is awesome.
Now I need a camera so I can share my work with you all.

Re: Introducing Myself
Welcome to a life long addiction.
Keep in mind that this amazing medium can be mixed with your brushwork, your colored pencil work, and so on. Using the water color pencils lets you get some absolutely wild detail and textures, and it all blends together seamlessly.
Plan on getting very little sleep, and spending your paychecks on paint and supplies.

Re: Introducing Myself
Welcome to the forum, it sounds like the AB bug has bitten you, and there is only one cure (spraying paint). As you can see there are alot of willing artists here to answer you questions, looking forward to seeing some posted work from you.

Re: Introducing Myself
Welcome to the forum, the best advise I can give is practice, practice, practice,
repetition is the key to success. Free your imagination and your airbrush will follow. If your sick of doing just dagger strokes check out 'zen of dagger strokes" in the gallery by Dominator and see what dragger strokes can do for a painting.
