i have used Speedball India ink for practice work many, many times - no thinning/solvent needed. have also used the Speedball acrylic color inks, again, no thinning/solvents. altho they do tend to cause a little more tip dry than the regular black india ink
air pressure needs to be turned down some due to the very thin consistency, and it does tend to "spider" when trying to get really fine lines, but other than that, i like it - very easy to use/spray

cleanup is accomplished quite easily with Fantastic spray cleaner mixed 50/50 with water.

give it try, you may like it.

Pat, I have several bottles of India Ink left over from a wood staining project and am trying to use it up in my new investigation of AB technique.

Heartless, thanks for the info, is Fantastic a brand name? Grocery store product? Is this a product that I can use for all my acrylic clean up?

Fantastic is a brand name of a general purpose spray cleaner, should be available in the cleaning supplies aisle of your local grocery store.
And yes, it works very well for all general acrylic cleanup as well as thinning of acrylics.

just to give you a little inspiration for using the inks, here is a piece i did some time ago using the Speedball acrylic pigmented inks (colors)

like I said, it does want to spider a bit on real tight work, but turning the air pressure down helps a bit with that.
