Ibanez guitar
I did this for my little brother. This is the cheaper one of his guitars. He has a Steve Vai Ibanez thats oober spendy that i want to paint for him. He was reluctant so he let me paint one of his old guitars first for him. It still needs to be cut and buffed, but it looks pretty cool. Since i didn't have to worry about what a customer thinks i practiced some pinstriping on the back. I have dubbed it "the tin man" design because thats all i see when i look at the back. The helmet i posted was the first use my brushes got, this is the second. Now i get to do his nice one :-)

Re: Ibanez guitar
thanks everyone! The inspiration for the design was actually a sketch out of my sketchbook that my brother found and loved. This kid is like the next Jimi Hendrix skill wise and mentally haha, so this design just suited him. I'll post a pic of the sketch later so you can all see. Now i have to do his super nice guitar that he plays for shows, so look out for that one.

Re: Ibanez guitar
haha i hope i get customers storming me. This was my second pinstripe job I've ever done. I actually ended up doing it on the black base, so there was no room for major mistakes after i started.

Re: Ibanez guitar
What kind of Clear did you use? Was there any hardener involved?

Re: Ibanez guitar
For this project i used some cheaper stuff, PPG paints and Omni clear. Omni clear is mixed 2:1 clear to hardener. I do not reduce Omni as it is made to be sprayed straight up clear and hardener. If you reduce it at all it tends to dry out after a couple months. I usually only use the PPG paint and Omni clear on little fix it projects, like fixing rust on my 87 honda hehe. Being that it's my little bros old guitar it got the cheap product. For any paying job i usually use HOK paints and clear.

Re: Ibanez guitar
It definitely looks "rock and roll"
The front is a good job just not to my taste, I like the pin stripping.
